Biltmore House – A Real Life Fantasy

On Saturday I drove up to Asheville with family to see the Biltmore Estate.  I’d been there before, but it had been years. This time they allowed photos, and so I’m thrilled to be able to share them here.  Of course, you know the photos just can’t capture the grandeur of the home that once belonged to George Vanderbilt. Historic Pickens, SC

Yesterday a friend and I took a walk along Main Street in Pickens, SC.  This is a quaint little Southern town in the upstate of South Carolina. Pickens is considered a mountain town with – Glassy Mountain, Tabel Rock and Table Rock State Park within a few miles of it.  Another attraction close to downtown Pickens is Hagood Grist Mill which is no longer operational but routinely hosts southern heritage festivals.
